Yes, this may be the season where people grow frantic and spend way too much time in shopping malls and not enough time remembering the reason we have this season in the first place … but they’re still finding time to buy Kindle books. And that’s a very good thing.

Weekly sales update: Loving the Brits
The book had just come off going free last Sunday, so there wasn’t much point in posting sales numbers.

Sunday, Dec. 4 — 2
Monday, Dec. 5 — 8
Tuesday, Dec. 6 — 7
Wednesday, Dec. 7 — 4
Thursday, Dec. 8 — 8
Friday, Dec. 9 — 4
Saturday, Dec. 10 — 9
Paperbacks: 2
Amazon US 25
Amazon UK 15
Total for the week: 42
Total for December: 57
Total to date: 913
The really great news this week is the book finally came off free status in England after month and started selling. I’d probably sold three copies total in the UK during the previous four months, so to sell 15 in one week is wonderful.
It also gives me hope for Amazon’s India and Australian stores, which I expect to open in 2012.
I’m off work tomorrow because I have to work this coming Saturday, so I’m hoping to make some progress on chapter 3 of the new book.

Weekly sales update: My new favorite month
What’s not to love about November? You may mention the earlier sunsets, the chilly days, the onset of winter. But when November has been as kind to you, sales-wise, as the past 30 days have been, you forgive all that other stuff.

Weekly sales update: Sweet spot?
Interesting question this week: Are the numbers below the “long legs” effect from going free earlier this month or have sales reached a “sweet spot” where word-of-mouth is generating steady sales? Continue reading

The book went free Monday night on Amazon US. The idea here is to get your book onto a lot of Kindles in hopes readers will like it and buy future books and recommend you to their friends.

Someone in the UK must have blogged about the book on Saturday because I was totally not expecting that to happen. I had only sold 2 books in the UK to date, so to put the book in the hands of nearly 700 readers there is fantastic.
On Friday, I started the process to “reprice” the book. It now has a price at iTunes, B&N and Smashwords, so it’s only a matter of time before Amazon follows. Hopefully, some of the incoming traffic will be converted to sales.
