You know you’re getting old when …

… you buy a new computer and still haven’t taken it out of the box three days later.

I’m still geeky about all things tech. I remember my dad taking me to a computer users meeting where we saw the very first Macintosh. (Dad also bought a Betamax once, but that’s another story for another day 🙂  I owned one of the first digital video recorders and raved about their coolness to anyone who would listen to me.

I like new things. My iPod Touch is always on the nightstand when I go to bed.

But I’m just dreading trying to hook up this cheap Toshiba mini-netbook, which I bought for word processing and net surfing. (I’ve discovered I’m far more productive in my writing when I sit in a comfy chair than when I hole up in the study with the desktop Mac.)

Maybe it will be easy. But until I’ve got three hours carved out in my schedule to figure it out, it’s going to sit in the box.
